All it takes is to make sure your maps have properly formatted county names as labels on all your maps. I have done this for all maps in my Emaps18.zip file for the middle atlantic region. For this, there are two new commands in APRSdos: WEATHER-DISPLAY-NO-counties - County Warnings default to on, but you can toggle them off if you are not interested. WEATHER-DISPLAY-SHOWcntys - Will give a test display of all counties Even if you are not in the .EAS area, just zoom so that USAEAST.map comes up and hit WEATHER-DISPLAYS-SHOW and you will see how the counties will look when activated. (Actually this test only activates every other county so that the map doesn't go solid color). To facilitate this process, MAPFIX34.exe has two new comands making it very easy to add these labels properly to your maps. The keys R and W will display range rings and Weather circles so you can see how it will look. I need volunteers. So far, CA, KS and MO are all in work If you want to do this, see the WX.TXT and COUNTIES.HOW readme files. Your county map labels must match exactly the Sprouls format. de Bob From stanzepa@mail2.nai.net Fri Jan 30 18:40:26 1998 Received: from mail2.nai.net (mail2.nai.net [208.133.174.66]) by tapr.org (8.7.5/8.7.3/1.9) with ESMTP id SAA16041 for ; Fri, 30 Jan 1998 18:40:24 -0600 (CST) From: stanzepa@mail2.nai.net Received: from smtp2.nai.net (Waterbury-Usr1-6.nai.net [208.133.173.15]) by mail2.nai.net (8.8.8/8.8.8) with SMTP id TAA07179 for ; Fri, 30 Jan 1998 19:40:43 -0500 (EST) Date: Fri, 30 Jan 1998 19:40:43 -0500 (EST) Message-Id: <199801310040.TAA07179@mail2.nai.net> X-Mailer: Microsoft Internet Mail and News for Macintosh - 1.1 (34) Subject: Floridy County Warnings (DOS) To: News_APRS Mime-version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Sender: Bob Bruninga Subject: Floridy County Warnings (DOS) Just posted SEmaps18.zip which has all of the Florida maps upgraded to include the County WX-WARNING circles.
